The Indian Central University located at Assam is Tezpur University. It was established in 1994 by an act of Parliament. It operates all its functions and offers education with the motto of ‘ Specialized Knowledge Promotes Creativity. ‘ It is totally affiliated to UGC. Its basic aim is to promote national integrity through higher education in various research fields. It is the very first university providing the education for teh course of Masters of Technology in Computational Seismology.

Candidates applying for the post of Professor and Associate Professor will get salary under the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000/- and should have relevant experience of at least 10 years/ 8 years respectively and those who have applied for Assistant Professors will get salary under the pay scale of Rs.15600-39100/- and it is required that candidates should have cleared NET/SLET conducted by UGC.
